Thida, the spirit guardian of an old cinema facing demolition, must confront her existence as a ghost and the choice of rebirth. When she meets Hai, a living human with whom she forms a deep bond, their connection forces her to face not only her spiritual destiny but also the realities of a country undergoing profound social change.

Ο Πολέν ΛΥ γεννήθηκε στην Καμπότζη το 1989 και ξεκίνησε να δημιουργεί ταινίες ως αυτοδίδακτος κινηματογραφιστής, συμμετέχοντας στην Ασιατική Ακαδημία Κινηματογράφου στο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου του Μπουσάν το 2018. Το μικρού μήκους ντοκιμαντέρ του Side by Side (2021) κέρδισε το Βραβείο Νεανικής Κριτικής Επιτροπής στην ενότητα Open Doors Screenings στο Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου του Λοκάρνο. Η μικρού μήκους μυθοπλασία του Further and Further Away (2022) προβλήθηκε στο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου του Βερολίνου και έλαβε βραβεία στο Palm Springs International ShortFest και στο Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival. Το Becoming Human είναι η πρώτη του μεγάλου μήκους ταινία και προβλήθηκε στο Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου της Βενετίας.
Polen LY was born in Cambodia in 1989 and began making films as a self-taught filmmaker and participated in the Asian Film Academy at the Busan International Film Festival in 2018. His short documentary Side by Side (2021) won the Youth Jury Prize in the Open Doors Screenings section at the Locarno Film Festival. His short fiction film Further and Further Away (2022) was screened at the Berlin International Film Festival and received awards at the Palm Springs International ShortFest and the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival. Becoming Humanis his first feature film and was screened at the Venice Film Festival.
