Σύνοψη:
Πίσω από την ειδυλλιακή καρτποσταλική εικόνα ενός χωριού ψαράδων της Κορνουάλης, δύο αδέρφια, ψαράδες του όρμου, έρχονται σε αντιπαράθεση για το πώς θα βιοποριστούν από το μικρό οικογενειακό ψαροκάικο. Κι ανάμεσά τους, ένας γιος/ανιψιός, μέλος μιας νεότερης γενιάς, η ενσάρκωση της διαλλακτικότητας. Όταν η σύγκρουση με τους εισοδηματίες παίρνει άσχημη τροπή, τα αδέρφια αναγκάζονται να συνεργαστούν και να αντιμετωπίσουν το μέλλον μαζί. Αποτύπωση της καθημερινής ζωής σε μια περιθωριακή κοινότητα, το "Δόλωμα" καταπιάνεται με τις οικογενειακές συγκρούσεις, την αγάπη και τη θλίψη. Η ταινία γυρίστηκε στα τέλη του φθινοπώρου του 2017 σε φιλμ 16 χιλιοστών, χρησιμοποιώντας μια κάμερα Bolex του 1970. Υποβλήθηκε σε επεξεργασία χρησιμοποιώντας τη διακριτή μέθοδο επεξεργασίας με το χέρι του σκηνοθέτη, δίνοντας μοναδικό βάθος και ομορφιά στην εικόνα.

Synopsis:
Behind the idyllic facade of a picturesque Cornish fishing village, the film explores the conflict of two brothers who work as cove fishermen and their different views on how to make a living from the small family fishing boat. Right in the middle, there’s a son/nephew; a member of the next generation, a personification of compromise. When the tension with incomers escalates and a prank goes horribly wrong, the brothers are forced to unite and face the future together. Capturing life in a marginal community, "Bait" explores family breakdowns, love and grief. The film was shot in late autumn 2017 on 16mm film, using a 1970’s Bolex camera. It was processed using Mark’s distinct hand processing method, adding a unique depth and beauty to the image.
