There seems to be no end to the things Paolo can learn from exploring this mountain, which he has chosen as his home for several years now. Sometimes he also feels like a spirit, and Laki, his old dog, becomes his guide. Where will it take him? To paraphrase Suzanne Simard, this film is not about how we can save the mountain. It is about how the mountain could save us.

Paolo Cognetti was born in Milan in 1978. He made his debut with several collections of short stories published by Minimum Fax and has gone on to write several novels, including The Eight Mountains (2016). The Eight Mountains has been translated into over 40 languages, and it was the inspiration for the film of the same name, which won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2022 and four David di Donatello Awards in 2023, including the one for Best Film.
Ο Πάολο Κογκνέτι γεννήθηκε στο Milan το 1978. Έκανε το ντεμπούτο του με αρκετές συλλογές διηγημάτων που εκδόθηκαν από τον Minimum Fax και στη συνέχεια έγραψε αρκετά μυθιστορήματα, μεταξύ των οποίων το The Eight Mountains (2016).
Το The Eight Mountains έχει μεταφραστεί σε περισσότερες από 40 γλώσσες και αποτέλεσε την έμπνευση για την ομώνυμη The Eight Mountains, η οποία κέρδισε το Βραβείο της Επιτροπής στο Cannes Film Festival το 2022 και τέσσερα David di Donatello Awards το 2023, συμπεριλαμβανομένου του βραβείου Καλύτερης Ταινίας.
