Actor, writer, and filmmaker, best known for writing and directing the films “Gabi on the Roof in July”, “Wild Canaries” and “Black Bear”. In 2009, Lawrence served as an executive producer for Jess Weixler (“Teeth”) and Jesse L. Martin (“Rent”, “Law & Order”), which premiered as a Narrative Feature in competition at the Sundance Film Festival. In 2010, Lawrence wrote, directed and starred in the feature film “Gabi on the Roof in July”, which was presented in numerous festivals. Lawrence Michael Levine holds a BA in Creative Writing from Skidmore College (English Department Honors) and an MFA in Film from Columbia University.

Synopsis
Πορτρέτο της Νέας Υόρκης και των περιπλανώμενων ελπιδοφόρων, που δεν έχουν την οικονομική δυνατότητα να ζήσουν εκεί, αλλά το κάνουν ούτως ή άλλως. Το “Gabi on the Roof in July” είναι μια κωμωδία για πρώην φίλες, ανταγωνισμό μεταξύ αδελφών και σαντιγί, σε μια πόλη που βρίσκεται συνεχώς σε κίνηση. A portrait of New York's youth and the misguided hopefuls, who can't afford to live there but do it anyway. "Gabi on the Roof in July" is an ensemble comedy about ex-girlfriends, sibling rivalry and whipped cream, set in a city that's constantly in flux. Gabi, a rambunctious Oberlin undergrad, heads to New York City to spend the summer with her older brother, Sam, seeking solidarity in the wake of their parents' divorce. When she gets there, she finds Sam too busy juggling women to give her the guidance she needs, irked by her provocative antics and almost constant nudity. In an effort to get Sam's attention, Gabi seduces his free-loving, freeloading college buddy, only to find she's in over her head.
