H Claire Simon μεγάλωσε στη Γαλλία και ξεκίνησε τις σπουδές της στην εθνολογία. Αυτοδίδακτη, έμαθε να μοντάρει και σκηνοθέτησε τις πρώτες της ταινίες μικρού και ντοκιμαντέρ, μέχρι την πρώτη της ταινία μυθοπλασίας μεγάλου μήκους, "A Foreign Body" ("Sinon, Oui", 1997). Κατά τη διάρκεια της παραγωγικής καριέρας της, η σκηνοθέτης έχει συνδυάσει αληθινές και μυθοπλαστικές ιστορίες -"It Burns" ("Ça brûle") (2005), "Playtime" (1992). Τα τελευταία 20 χρόνια, οι ταινίες της έχουν προβληθεί και βραβευτεί στις Κάννες, τη Βενετία και την Berlinale.

Claire Simon grew up in France and began her studies in ethnology. Self-taught, she learned to edit and directed her first short films and documentaries, until her debut feature "A Foreign Body" (“Sinon, Oui”, 1997). During her prolific career, the filmmaker has combined true and fictional stories, as illustrated in her films It Burns (“Ça brûle”) (2005), or Playtime (1992). In the past 20 years, her film have been shown and awarded at Cannes, Venice and Berlinale.

Synopsis

In a Parisian public hospital, Claire Simon questions what it means to live in women’s bodies, filming their diversity, singularity and their beauty in all stages throughout life. Unique stories of desires, fears and struggles unfold, including the one of the filmmaker herself.
