Απολαμβάνοντας ένα ολοήμερο μπάνιο στην queer παραλία της Αθήνας, ο Δημοσθένης συνδράμει τον
εκκολαπτόμενο σκηνοθέτη Νικήτα στη συγγραφή ενός σεναρίου για το κινηματογραφικό του ντεμπούτο,
εμπνευσμένο από τα δραματικά γεγονότα ενός πρόσφατου καλοκαιριού. Ανατρέχοντας στη ζωή τους σαν
να ήταν ταινία, οι δυο κολλητοί θα βρεθούν αντιμέτωποι με τα ανοιχτά μέτωπα στην πολύχρωμη φιλία
τους.
While having a day-long swim at Athens’ queer beach, Demosthenes helps aspiring filmmaker Nikitas write
the screenplay for his debut feature, inspired by the dramatic events of a recent summer. Imagining their
lives as a film, brings the two best mates face to face with the pending conflicts in their colorful friendship.

Γεννημένος στην Αθήνα, ο Ζαχαρίας Μαυροειδής
σπούδασε Αρχιτεκτονική στο Αριστοτέλειο
Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης και θέατρο
στη RESAD της Μαδρίτης πριν στραφεί στον
κινηματογράφο. Σπούδασε σενάριο στο EICTV της
Κούβας και κινηματογράφο στο New York College.
Είναι απόφοιτος των Berlinale και Sarajevo Talent
Campus και υπότροφος του προγράμματος ARTWORKS
του Ιδρύματος Σταύρος Νιάρχος. Την τριετία 2022 –
2025 διετέλεσε Γενικός Γραμματέας του Διοικητικού
Συμβουλίου της Ελληνικής Ακαδημίας
Κινηματογράφου.
Το ντεμπούτο του, η κωμωδία Ο ΞΕΝΑΓΟΣ (2011),
προβλήθηκε σε περισσότερα από 20 διεθνή φεστιβάλ.
Ακολούθησε το ντοκιμαντέρ ΣΤΟ ΣΩΜΑ ΤΗΣ (2018) που
έκανε πρεμιέρα στο διεθνές διαγωνιστικό Φεστιβάλ
Ντοκιμαντέρ Θεσσαλονίκης.
Η δεύτερη μεγάλου μήκους μυθοπλασία του,
ΑΠΟΣΤΡΑΤΟΣ (2019), παραγωγής Faliro House, κέρδισε
το Βραβείο της Κριτικής Επιτροπής Νέων και το
Βραβείο Κοινού στον διεθνές διαγωνιστικό του
60ου Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Θεσσαλονίκης, το
Βραβείο Σεναρίου στα βραβεία ΙΡΙΣ της Ελληνικής
Ακαδημίας Κινηματογράφου και το Βραβείο Καλύτερης Ταινίας στο Kinenova IFF.
Η πιο πρόσφατη ταινία του, η κωμωδία ΤΟ ΚΑΛΟΚΑΙΡΙ ΤΗΣ ΚΑΡΜΕΝ (2023), έκανε πρεμιέρα στο
τμήμα Giornate degli Autori του 80ου Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Βενετίας. Κέρδισε το
Βραβείο Κοινού, το Βραβείο Κριτικής Επιτροπής Νέων και το Βραβείο Mermaid στο Φεστιβάλ
Κινηματογράφου Θεσσαλονίκης, το Βραβείο Καλύτερης Ταινίας στο Cheries Cheris Paris LGBT+ FF
και το Βραβείο Κοινού στο Cinemed Brussels FF. Η ταινία προβλήθηκε σε φεστιβάλ σε όλο τον κόσμο
ενώ είχε διανομή σε Ευρώπη, Αμερική και Αυστραλία.
Παράλληλα με το έργο του ως κινηματογραφιστής, διδάσκει σενάριο και εργάζεται ως σύμβουλος
σεναρίου ενώ συμμετείχε με κείμενά του στους συλλογικούς τόμους Η ΧΑΜΕΝΗ ΛΕΩΦΟΡΟΣ ΤΟΥ
ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟΥ ΣΙΝΕΜΑ (εκδόσεις Νεφέλη, 2019, επιμ. Αφροδίτη Νικολαΐδου), ΤΙ ΜΑΣ ΜΑΘΑΙΝΕΙ Η

Το μυθιστόρημά του ΕΦΤΑ ΨΥΧΕΣ ΣΤΟ ΣΤΟΜΑ (εκδόσεις POLARIS, 2014), βρίσκεται σε ανάπτυξη ως
ταινία κινουμένων σχεδίων με τίτλο NINE LIVES LEFT. Το έργο συμμετείχε με υποτροφία του
Παιδικού Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Αθήνας στο Cinekid ScriptLab 2022, ενώ παρουσιάστηκε στο
CEE Animation pitching forum, κερδίζοντας το Βραβείο Καλύτερης Μεγάλου Μήκους, και στο
Cartoon Movie 2026.
Born in Athens, Zacharias Mavroeidis studied Architecture in Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki
and theater in RESAD, Madrid, before turning to filmmaking. He studied scriptwriting in EICTV, Cuba
and filmmaking in New York College in Athens. He is a Berlinale and Sarajevo Talent Campus alumni.
He has been awarded the Artist Fellowship ARTWORKS by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. From
2022 to 2025 he serveδ as General Secretary at the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Film Academy.
His debut feature THE GUIDE (2011) screened in more than 20 International film festivals. Follοwing,
his documentary ACROSS HER BODY (2018) premiered at the international competition of
Thessaloniki Documentary IFF.
His sophomore feature, DEFUNCT (2019), produced by Faliro House, won the Young Jury Award and
the Audience Award in the international competition of 60th Thessaloniki IFF, Best script award from
the Hellenic Film Academy and the Best Film award in Kinenova 2020 IFF.
His latest feature, the comedy THE SUMMER WITH CARMEN premiered at the Giornate degli Autori
section of the 80th Venice Film Festival. It won the Greek Feature Audience Award, the Young Jury
Award and the Mermaid Award in the Thessaloniki IFF, the Best Feature award in Cheries Cheris Paris
LGBT+ FF and the Audience award in Cinemed Brussels FF. The film screened in festivals across the
world and was theatrically released in Europe, America and Australia.
Parallel to his work as a filmmaker, he has been teaching screenwriting and working as a script
consultant, while he participated with essays in the edited volumes THE LOST HIGHWAY OF GREEK
CINEMA (Nefeli editions, 2019, ed. Aphrodite Nikolaidou), WHAT DOES ART TEACHES US ? (FRMK
editions, 2020, ed. Katerina Iliopoulou) and PAGES FOR THE ART OF REALITY (Thessaloniki Film
Festival editions, 2024, ed. Orestis Andreadakis).
His novel NINE LIVES LEFT, published in Greece, (Polaris Editions, 2024) is currently in development
as a feature animation film. The project participated in Cinekid ScriptLab 2022 with a grant awarded
by the Athens Kids IFF, following a presentation at the CEE Animation pitching forum, were it won
the Best Feature Award, and at Cartoon Movie 2026.
