Στο Παρίσι του 1978, οι παλιότερες μουσικές φόρμουλες δε συναρπάζουν πλέον τους ακροατές, οι οποίοι αναζητούν νέες μουσικές διεξόδους. Έτσι, η Άνα μέσα από τη μουσική της προσπαθεί να δημιουργήσει τη μουσική του μέλλοντος, που θα διαμορφώσει τις επόμενες δεκαετίες. Σε μία ανδροκρατούμενη κατά τ’ άλλα βιομηχανία, η ταινία αποτελεί μια ωδή στις πρωτοπόρους της ηλεκτρονικής μουσικής, δημιουργώντας ένα δράμα με επίκαιρη φεμινιστική ματιά.

Synopsis:
Paris, 1978. Old musical formulas no longer fascinate listeners and new music must arise. Τhrough her music, Ana tries to establish her presence, by creating new sounds which will shape the decades to come: the music of the future. In a male-dominated industry, the film is an ode to the pioneers of electronic music, creating a drama with a modern feminist look.

Marc Collin (Γαλλία, 1971)
Μουσικός, συνθέτης και παραγωγός δίσκων. Είναι γνωστός ως συνιδρυτής του συγκροτήματος Nouvelle Vague. Το 2003, ξεκίνησε ένα project προσαρμογής των post-punk κλασικών κομματιών της εφηβείας του σε ύφος bossa nova, reggae κ.λπ. Ο κύριος στόχος του ήταν να αποδείξει ότι η εξίσωση “New Wave = Bossa Nova = Nouvelle Vague” είναι δυνατή, αφού αυτί οι τρεις όροι έχουν κυριολεκτικά την ίδια σημασία. Έτσι, το πρώτο άλμπουμ των Nouvelle Vague (υπό τη διεύθυνση του συνιδρυτή του συγκροτήματος Olivier Libaux) κυκλοφόρησε το 2004. Ακολούθησαν περισσότερα άλμπουμ, με τη συμμετοχή πολλών καλεσμένων, όπως ο Martin Gore (Depeche Mode), ο Terry Hall (the Specials), η Vanessa Paradis, ο Julien Doré και ο Charlie Winston. Το "The Shock of the Future" είναι η πρώτη του μεγάλου μήκους ταινία, που εξερευνά τις απαρχές της ηλεκτρονικής μουσικής και τη συμβολή των γυναικών σε αυτή.

Marc Collin (France, 1971)
Musician, composer and record producer. He is known as the co-founder of the band Nouvelle Vague. In 2003, he started a project of adapting the post-punk classics of his adolescence in bossa nova, reggae style etc. His main goal was to demonstrate that the equation “New Wave = Bossa Nova = Nouvelle Vague" is possible, since these three terms have literally the same meaning. As a result, the first album of Nouvelle Vague (under the direction of the band’s co-founder Olivier Libaux) was released in 2004. More albums followed, with the participation of numerous guests, such as Martin Gore (Depeche Mode), Terry Hall (the Specials), Vanessa Paradis, Julien Doré and Charlie Winston. "The Shock of the Future" is his first feature film, which explores the contribution of women in the early days of electronic music.
