The Two Takes podcast, a program from Gerador in collaboration Kino Athens - Independent Film Festival of Athens. In each episode, we bring together two creative voices from different corners of Europe to reflect on a common concern.
In the opening episode, filmmakers Paulo Carneiro and Georgis Grigoriakis explore how extractive practices shape both communities and landscapes. Drawing from Carneiro's film "The Savannah and the Mountain," a striking portrait of a Portuguese village facing the arrival of a mining project, and Grigoriakis' "Digger," a contemporary western about a lone farmer confronting an encroaching mining company, the two directors reflect on the human, social, and environmental costs that often remain hidden beneath progress.
