International Independent Film Festival of Athens - KINO Athens

KINO Athens International Independent Film Festival with the support of the City of Athens and the Greek Film Centre is proud to present the KINO Junior section.

 

KINO Junior aims to enhance the cultural education of children and teenagers by exposing them to a rich visual experience.

 

The section comprises:

 

+ Film Screenings: Featuring a diverse selection of films from around the world across all genres, including animation, documentary, and fiction in both short and feature-length formats. 

​

+ Workshops: Engaging activities designed to inspire and educate young minds.

 

KINO Junior is tailored for:

​

+ Children aged 3 to 15, with programming segmented into age groups: 3+, 6+, 9+, and 12+. 

​​

+ Schools and Families, eager to participate.

​

The section will take place: 

​

+ During the KINO Festival dates: March 1-9, 2025  

​​

+ At Serafio City of Athens

​

 

KINO Junior Award: 

​

Directors are eligible for the Deer Kids Competition without limitation on the number of films they have previously completed.

 

To apply for the Deer Kids Competition - Feature, films must meet the following criteria:

​

+ Must be in the genres of fiction, animation, or documentary (running at 59 minutes or longer).

+ All films should have been completed after January 15, 2024.

+ The festival does not select films based on their premiere status.

The KINO Junior Audience Award will be awarded based on votes from the audience during the school and family screenings. The audience is solely responsible for determining the winning film.
